Description
"Eiffel Tower and Paris Rooftops in Sunlight" is a textured stylized cityscape impasto palette knife oil painting on stretched canvas 25x25 cm (10x10 inches), 2019.
This painting is part of my Paris Rooftops Views stylized cityscapes series and it is a new approach on a larger canvas of my previous oil painting "Paris Rooftops view from Centre Pompidou".
---------------------------
I was inspired to paint this scene by the lovely view of Paris rooftops from Centre Pompidou. If you have visited Paris you may be familiar with the view of Paris while walking through the glass tubes corridors attached to the main facade of George Pompidou Center.
---------------------------
I often travel to Paris and I always find there my inspiration. It has a special magic for me and I hope you can feel it through my paintings...
---------------------------
I have always loved to approach my urban paintings in a myriad of ways. I enjoy stylizing architectural forms in various manners. This has always been one of my goals, even a preoccupation from the time I was studying at the school of architecture until the present. The versatility of oil paint along with my prototypic work with palette knives allows me to play with the urban forms abstracting the city in an unconstrained manner.
---------------------------
The Roofs of Paris (Les Toits de Paris) are known as an emblematic architectural heritage of Paris. Many of them are masterpieces of architecture and classified as historical monuments of Paris. They can be often easily identifiable, as many Parisian Cathedrals, Towers, the famous Tour Eiffel, and so on... During the time, Artists have always been inspired by the magic of Parisian urban panoramas... I am definitely one of them, as this is one of my predilection subjects, even from the time I was studying at the school of architecture. The Parisian Rooftops views can be observed from many places accessible to the public and Notre Dame Towers and Centre Pompidou are two of my favorites spots.
---------------------------
Paris is the capital of France and the country`s largest city. It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Ile-de-France region.
Paris is a city to discover, seeing the sights, visiting the museums, they're part of the experience. But then jump on the metro or a bus and get off at a place you've never heard of, wander through a quartier where French mixes with Arabic or Vietnamese, have lunch in a local restaurant, poke your head into mysterious shops, or just perch on a cafe terrace with a vin blanc and let yourself fall in love with the city.
