This modern impressionist miniature oil painting depicts the beautiful view over the city of Lyon, France, rendered in an abstract manner.
This is a palette knife painting. No brush was used to create the work. I only used different types of palette knives to apply thick oil color paint.
Lyon , traditionally spelt Lyons in English, is a city in east-central France in the Rhone-Alpes region, situated between Paris and Marseille. Etymologically it relates to the Celtic God Lugoves, Lugh as does Laon and Leiden. Lyon is located approximately 470 km (292 mi) from Paris and 320 km (199 mi) from Marseille. Mona Edulesco is a Romanian painter and architect who resides in France and specializes in textured impasto palette knife oil paintings. Her preference for abstract cityscapes reflects her background in architecture and urban planning. Edulesco merges her experience in architectural concept drawings with the freedom and energy of palette knife painting into phantasmagorical textural impressionistic works.
