This oil painting will be exposed at the XXII ESPOSIZIONE INTERNAZIONALE DEGLI ARCHITETTI ARTISTI. The exhibition theme is "URBAN STORIES" and will take place between 19/03/2013 and 24/03/2013 in Venice.
The Romanian Revolution was a series of riots and protests in Romania in December 1989. These were part of theRevolutions of 1989 that occurred in several Warsaw Pact countries. The Romanian Revolution started in the city of Timisoara and soon spread throughout the country, becoming the only one of these revolutions that forcibly overthrew a Communist government and executed the country's head of state. The Revolution marked the end of the Communist regime of Nicolae Ceauşescu. (source:Wikipedia)

A powerful moment in world history, Beautifully painted Mona! I was on "Rescue Alert" duty in Iceland when we saw the news of this on TV. I think we all breathed a sigh of relief when we saw the huge communist edifice begin to crumble. Awesome work of art!! f/v

Wonderful painting. A good friend of mine "escaped" from that hellhole through East/ West Germany and made her way to America in 1975. The stories she told were hairaising.
