THE SKY OF YELLOW ROSES - diptych oil painting
Artist

Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
"The Sky of Yellow Roses" by Mona Edulesco.
Original palette knife oil painting Diptych 30x60 cm, 2018.
Phantasmagoric composition realized in the impasto technique, in a modern textural impressionist style.
This artwork was created on two canvases, each of 30x30 cm.
The upper panel represents a bouquet of abstract roses painted in an abstract manner with thick layers of oil paint. The lower panel depicts a stylized cityscape inspired by the view overtopping the Rhone River and Pont Wilson in Lyon, France.
There is a special story about these paintings. I started working on the two compositions in the same time but on different easels. At one moment, something happened…and looking better I realized that the lines of the trees magically aligned with the stems of the roses. There was an unique attraction that I couldn’t deny.
