Textural impressionist stylized nightscape impasto palette knife oil painting 20x20 cm (8x8 inches). The painting was realized in impasto technique, rendered in a stylized manner, with heavy textures of oil paint applied with a diversity of palette knives.
This miniature painting captures a view over Butte Montmartre and the Sacré-Coeur Basilica illuminated at night.
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur (French: Basilique du Sacré-Cœur), is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. A popular landmark and the second most visited monument in Paris, the basilica is located at the summit of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city.
The Basilica was designed by Paul Abadie. Six other architects succeeded him to complete the building. The overall style of the structure shows a free interpretation of Romano-Byzantine features, inspired by churches such as Saint Sofia in Constantinople and San Marco in Venice, in contrast to the Gothic churches of the Middle Ages like Notre-Dame de Paris. Beautifully Done, Mona! I love the way you eclipsed the Moon and the Basilica with the same wonderful Light! Texture as always Fascinating! Your knife acts upon the solidity of the buildings as if to make them remarkably Fluid adding an air of action to them! :)))))))
