Description
"Park Guell enchanted visitors" by Mona Edulesco.
Modern impressionist textured palette knife oil painting on stretched canvas, 30 x 30 cm (12 x 12 inches).
This painting is inspired by my recent trip to Barcelona, earlier this summer. Park Guell is one of my favorite places in Barcelona.... The painting depicts some visitors sitting on Gaudi's serpentine bench, admiring this amazing oeuvre d'art.
The Park Güell is a public park system composed of gardens and architectonic elements located in Barcelona, Spain and built between 1900 and 1914.
Park Güell is the reflection of Antoni Gaudí's artistic plenitude, which belongs to his naturalist phase (first decade of the 20th century). During this period, the architect perfected his personal style through inspiration from organic shapes.
The undulation bench created by Antoni Gaudi is definitely one of the most widely admired elements in the Park Guell. Overlooking the city below, this sinuous bench is clad in ceramic tiles. A mix of sculpture, functionality and surface design, considered one of the great works of art of the 20th century.

I love this, Mona! Such an interesting slant on the city seen through the visitors collected in this magical and enchanted space in the Park Guell! I love this strange twisting and undulating bench almost like a live creature!! Love it!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Chava! :) Yes, I also enjoyed this slant... And I love your analogy for Gaudi's undulating bench...a live creature it could evoke indeed!
