Description
Notre Dame de Paris Tragedy by Mona Edulesco.
Watercolor painting on paper 28x38cm.
I realized this work for the 85 Salon International Ligne&Couleur Paris (March 25th to March 7th 2020), where I exhibited 3 paintings on the theme of Notre Dame de Paris.
---------------------------
This is a painting depicting the tragedy of Notre Dame de Paris Fire.
In the evening of 15th of April 2019, a major fire has engulfed the medieval cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris (Our Lady of Paris), one of France's most famous landmarks. By the time it was extinguished, the building's spire and most of its roof had been destroyed and its upper walls severely damaged; extensive damage to the interior was prevented by its stone vaulted ceiling, which largely contained the burning roof as it collapsed.

Beautiful work Mona! I hesitate saying that about an event so horrible, but your style and technique are so wonderful!
