Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic and known since ancient times as Hellas, is a country in Southeast Europe. According to the 2011 census, Greece's population is around 11 million. Athens is the nation's capital and largest city, its urban area also including Piraeus. Surrounded by the Aegean Sea on the East, the Mediterranean on the South and the Ionian Sea to the West, Greece has the 11th longest coastline in the world at 13,676 km (8,498 mi) in length, featuring a vast number of islands (approximately 1,400, of which 227 are inhabited), including Crete, the Dodecanese, the Cyclades, and the Ionian Islands among others. Eighty percent of Greece consists of mountains, of which Mount Olympus is the highest at 2,917 m (9,570 ft).
The sea has a huge influence on Greek life and culture, but Greece is also one of the most mountainous countries in Europe, with 80% of its land area covered by mountains. The climate of Greece is varied, with Alpine, Mediterranean and temperate zones. It's a breathtakingly beautiful country, with varied terrain and plenty of marvelous places to visit.

I just love this! The limited palette makes this intriguing design pop for us. It's the best of abstract and representational essence all in one. Favorite.

Love the moody feel of this work Mona. Delicious blues throughout and great sparks and splashes of red to accent them. Wonderfully created! LF!

Oh my gosh Mona - so thrilled to find another painting I've not visited before so I can vote! Everything about this is just inspired - the splashes of red on the boats and reflections and the stunning variations of blue in this masterful work. I so love this F/V T
